About Prismalignworks
Lighting the path to your photojournalism career since 2014
Our Story & Mission
We started Prismalignworks back in 2014 from a tiny studio in Kolkata with just three cameras and a dream. Looking back, I still remember those early days when we'd gather aspiring photographers in local parks for impromptu workshops.
Our mission? It's pretty simple actually — we want to elevate photojournalism in India by connecting passionate people with the techniques and opportunities they need. We're not just about teaching photography; we're about telling India's stories through powerful images that spark conversation and change.
The journey hasn't always been smooth (there was that one time our entire equipment got drenched during monsoon season!), but seeing our students transform into award-winning photojournalists makes everything worthwhile.

Meet Our Lead Instructor
Behind every successful photographer is someone who believed in them. At Prismalignworks, our team of dedicated instructors brings decades of field experience to help nurture the next generation of visual storytellers.

Priya Sharma
Head of Training & Senior Photojournalist
With over 15 years covering everything from political movements to environmental stories across South Asia, Priya brings a wealth of real-world experience to our classrooms. Her work has appeared in National Geographic, The Guardian, and BBC World Service.
Priya developed our signature "narrative-first" approach that's helped hundreds of photographers find their unique voice. She's particularly passionate about mentoring women in photojournalism — something she wishes she'd had when starting out.
"The best photos don't just show what happened," she often tells students, "they make us feel why it matters."
